Description
One of Merida’s historic homes, this was once the home of the revered governor, Felipe Carrillo Puerto. Featured on a “Before” espisode of the TV show House Hunter’s International, you will have the opportunity to see the “After” version of this wonderful home. No house better represents the authentic Merida style of living with all rooms facing one of the lovely open-air courtyards. From your first steps through the front doors you will be transported into Merida’s past while, at the same time, being embraced by the best of modern living. Three of the bedrooms plus the living room open onto this first courtyard with its towering tropical Mamay tree and tinkling fountain.
Behind the first courtyard, pass through the formal dining room and past the fourth bedroom to find the large, covered outdoor living area, complete with TV, and, to one side, the completely modern kitchen. The terrace space opens onto the very large pool and garden area. Here there is plenty of space for your group of family or friends to enjoy Merida’s famous indoor/outdoor living from a pool-side lounge or from a comfy seat under the covered terrace or at the outdoor bar.
The air conditioned kitchen is supplied with all necessary small appliances, has double sink and is a chef’s delight. A large gas BBQ grill just outside the kitchen and in front of the pool is also included.
Please note that the casita behind the pool is the owner’s private retreat when they are in Merida. They do not occupy the casita when the main house is rented to guests nor is it available to guests.
