When you dream of the perfect rental home in Merida, this is the home you probably imagine. It combines the best of Colonial style with updated, modern living. From the entry through a very large, original Colonial room into the living room with its lofty, original ceilings and pasta tile floors but with its comfy furnishings and large LED TV, everywhere Colonial and modern merge seamlessly. Instagram moments are everywhere; columns and arches frame the views from every angle.
All rooms are air conditioned with separate mini-splits for your comfort, but the outdoor seating areas…and there are several…are covered and remain comfortable enough for most all day long. The long covered walkways funnel breezes throughout the day. The central patio is located between the living room and the kitchen. It has an outdoor dining table and comfortable seating for several people. You may well find yourself hanging out here most of the day. BUT then again, there is another very special hang out space down the covered walkway at the end of the garden. And another under the upstairs covered walkway, a twin of the one downstairs. AND yet another, for the sun worshipers on the roof deck with its views of Santa Ana church. Take your pick!
The kitchen is large and well-equipped with an oversized refrigerator, gas stove and oven, and a dishwasher. There is a small table inside for those who want their morning coffee there instead of at one of the many other outdoor tables. Just outside the kitchen there is a spiral staircase to the roof deck which makes having drinks and snacks on the roof under the starlight quick and easy. This is not the main stairway to the second floor, however, so no worries if you prefer an regular stairway.
The bedrooms face the lap pool which runs the length of half of this very deep property. The master is on the ground floor with its spacious en suite. The two guests rooms, have king sized beds and en suites just like the master and are both located on the second floor. All have lots of comfortable pillows and bedding is 100% cotton for your comfort.
Outside the front door you will see Parque Santa Ana with its historic church and public market. You can enjoy snacks from one of its many stalls or walk across the street to check out several art galleries. Only one block further east is the famous Paseo de Montejo with museums, restaurants and shops. History is all around you…soak it in and enjoy the best of Merida!
