Description
Featured in a recent article in DWELL magazine online, this beautiful house has just been completed and is all new. The owner/designer worked with a well-known architect to create a simple yet very elegant home with the best finishes and details, all located in a quiet pocket of Merida between the Centro Historico and the neighborhood of Garcia Gineres.
The architect and owner wanted to honor the neighborhood and the house, and included many local materials such as the wood and iron used, as well as traditional decorative cement and stone selections throughout the house.
The main house has a small garden in front, further granting privacy and airflow. Once inside there is a calm sense of design, with each space well thought out. An open kitchen allows more airflow and contact with family and guests while cooking. Above this is two bedrooms with privacy and the same nice materials. A large screened patio is at the back of the house, overlooking the swimming pool, and behind that is the spacious principal bedroom and bath with closet.
This is a must-see for any design afficianado, and it makes a perfect lock-and-leave home, or year round residence.
